Key Stages & Dates

Round
1

TechQuest
(Dates: 22nd, 23rd and 24th November 2024)

A multiple-choice question (MCQ) based quiz testing participants’ technical knowledge of the steel industry. This will be an elimination round, with a focus on accuracy and speed.

Format: Online MCQ quiz.

Criteria: Speed and accuracy in technical knowledge.

Case Study Presentation

A deep dive into technical concepts, where participants face complex problem-solving tasks related to the steel industry engineering.

Format: Online Case Study

Criteria: Depth of analysis, creativity and practical feasibility.

PEB BattleField
(Dates to be announced soon!)

Finalists will present a comprehensive case study that addresses a real-world challenge within the steel industry. Their presentations will be evaluated by a panel of industry experts.

Format: 7 minute Live presentations.

Criteria: Judging will be based on the depth of analysis, creativity and the practical feasibility of the proposed solution.

Guidelines to Submit Case Study (Round 2)

  • Log in to your Candidate Panel.

  • Select the "Online Case Study" category to begin Round 2.

  • You will have 10 days to prepare for the case study.

  • Upload and submit your case study before the deadline, as the submission link will expire after that.

  • Label Media Files: Clearly name all files (jpeg, png, etc.) with any credits or copyright information. (Name_SteelTheSpotlight_Case Study_2024)

  • Obtain Permission: Ensure all images/media are cleared for use by the Institution. Securing these permissions is the entrant’s responsibility.

  • High-Resolution Request: Be prepared to provide additional high-resolution images or drawings if requested for judging or future promotion.

  • Participants must be 18+ with an engineering background.

  • Students must register individually.

  • Please note that Everest employees are not eligible to participate in the 'Steel the Spotlight' contest.

  • Participants may register and attempt the test only once. Multiple attempts will result in disqualification.

  • Deadline: Complete your entry (Online Form, Written Submission) before 21st Nov 2024.

  • Judges’ Decision: All decisions are final. No individual feedback will be provided for non-shortlisted entries.

  • All content submitted must be original work and must not infringe on the intellectual property of others.

  • Everest reserves the right to check the validity of the registration information submitted at any point in time.

What is the Everest Steel the Spotlight competition?

"Steel the Spotlight" is our dynamic new contest that aims to celebrate and highlight creativity and innovation in engineering! Open to students, early professionals, and budding consultants in civil and mechanical engineering, this competition offers a platform to showcase your technical and design skills.

How many rounds are there?

There are 3 Rounds

Round 1: TechQuest – Registrations Started, Test will begin on Nov 22nd to Nov 24th

Round 2 (Online Case Study)

Round 3 (PEB Battlefield)

Who is eligible to participate?

Engineers, designers and consultants & early professionals with an experience of 0-10 years.

Who are not eligible?

Employees of Everest Industries and their relatives are not eligible to participate in the contest. Any violation of this rule will result in disqualification.

Who can participate?

Anyone aged 18+ with an engineering or design background can participate.

How will the rounds be conducted?

The TechQuest and Case Study rounds will be conducted online while the Grand Finale will take place live.

How can I enter the competition?

Go to the website & fill the form and Voila! You have entered the competition.

What are the prizes?

Final-Year Engineering Students: Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs).

Young Consultants & Designers: An international adventure trip. All winners will be featured in media releases.

When will the shortlist be announced?

How are winners selected?

Entries are evaluated based on performance in the TechQuest MCQ round and the Case Study Presentation.

How many attempts are allowed?

You can participate only once, but there will be three windows and you can choose to participate in any one of them.

Is this competition open to students from all universities and courses?

Yes, the competition is open to all first-year Engineering students, specifically those studying Civil and Mechanical Engineering.

Is there a registration fee for this competition?

No

Can I participate individually or in a team?

This contest is exclusively for individual participants.

Can international students participate, or is it limited to a specific region?

Yes, international students are welcome to participate.
